Jeff Martin to produce new The Eternal album

November 5, 2009 by lethalconflict

THE ETERNAL WORK WITH JEFF MARTIN ON NEW ALBUM

Fresh from their 2009 world tour across Australia, Japan Europe, America, Canada and Mexico in support of their album ‘Kartika’, Melbourne’s dark rockers The Eternal will be entering 301 Studios Byron Bay on December 4th with acclaimed producer and multi-platinum recording artist Jeff Martin (The Amarda / The Tea Party) to record their forth album.

Having returned from the tour with the band’s strongest line up to date, Guitarist/Vocalist Mark Kelson states that the new album has a clear vision that will evolve The Eternal’s sound to a new level with the collaboration of producer Jeff Martin. ‘We are really excited about this opportunity to work with Jeff Martin who has been a big influence on me over the years and I can’t think of any one better to bring the best out of us & our sound. This is truly a highlight for me as far as The Eternal is concerned,’ he said.

Jeff Martin
adds ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly re-introduce The Eternal… The type of band I’ve been waiting to produce. It’s been a year now since Mark and I agreed to embark on a journey that begins this December. For The Eternal this will not be a stepping stone but a launch pad. For me, a creative working relationship that allows me to realise an artist’s vision and re-connect with past influences, all the while looking into the future…darkly. I envision an alchemical marriage, a musical landscape anchored by organic rock and roll and infested with industrial overtones. To put things lightly, you’re not playing with kids here. The Eternal are the real deal.’

The album will be co-engineered by Paul Pilsneniks who has worked with such artists as The Living End, The Mars Volta, Silverchair, Grinspoon & Alanis Morissette, and The Eternal has also enlisted acclaimed Finnish keyboard player Maria Ilmoniemi (Tarja / Husky Rescue) to contribute.

The yet to be titled album will see the light of day in 2010. So check the bands website for regular updates.

Negura Bunget drops from Satyricon tour

November 5, 2009 by lethalconflict

Negura Bunget Forced To Cancel Satyricon Tour
“We regret to announce that Negura Bunget is forced to cancel its participation in the Satyricon tour from December. The whole tour plans are poorly fixed for the moment, and the main organizer, Vain Productions, has been doing some strange arrangements concerning Negura Bunget, so we are now forced to cancel our participation. We made a lot of sacrifices to make this tour happen for us, so we regret doing this, but at the same time the way things are happening, it would just be a waste of energy for something that doesn’t look to happen in good conditions.
For all the people who wanted to see us, we announce now officially that we will be doing a full European Tour in spring next year, promoting our new album “Vîrstele pămîntului”.
We hope to see you all there under better circumstances.”

Survivors Zero change drummer

October 30, 2009 by lethalconflict

Finnish death metal combo Survivors Zero, who unleashed their brilliant and even chart-hitting debut album CMXCIX in September, faced recently a change in the line-up when the original drummer Reima Kellokoski was replaced by Seppo Tarvainen. The change was due to Reima’s commitments with his main band Impaled Nazarene. Seppo is known for his excellent drumming skills previously in The Scourger and nowadays he also plays guitar in Tukkanuotta.
Survivors Zero website www.survivorszero.com has also gone through a facelift and there you can check the band’s official statement about the lineup change and other things of interest.
A short while ago Survivors Zero announced their support slot at the European tour of none other than the Swedish death metal legends Hypocrisy and Danish Hatesphere. The three bands will tour mostly Central European countries in January/February 2010.

The Eternal: sort of new band member kind of

October 28, 2009 by lethalconflict

The Eternal news;

Talented Finnish keyboard player Maria Ilmoniemi who we met on our recent tour in the USA (She was in Tarja’s band) is now at her studio in Helsinki, Finland, tracking keyboards for our new album. Maria has almost completed her masters degree in music & has an amazing range of digital & analogue keyboards, so we are very lucky to have her onboard.

Due to distance, its hard to make Maria a full time member of The Eternal, so she will be the invisible 4th member on this record and also the first female in what has very much been a boys club up until now. We are very excited to be working with her and we are sure the results will be fantastic. More information on the new album coming very soon!

GEIST on search for a new synthesizer player

October 28, 2009 by lethalconflict

From the camp of Bielefeld/Germany based black metallers GEЇST, here is a message from bass player Alboin:

“Our current synthesizer player Faruk will leave us early 2010, which is why we are on search for a new synthesizer player now. From February 2010 on, we want to play concerts in complete line-up, and in further course of the year we want to arrange and record new music. If possible, we’d like to entirely integrate our new member in both of these enterprises. If you…

- own suitable equipment,
- have compositional skills or a classical musical education,
- are from the Bielefeld/Germany area, or if you’re willing to travel or relocate,
- work reliably, self-depende ntly, and professionally,
- are at least 20 years old,
- think, compose, and play creatively and visionary and
- if Geïst would become a priority in your (musical) activities,

we’d be happy to receive an application e-mail plus a sample of your work from you. Please send it to alboin@the-geist-reich.de.”
