The Eternal – Under The New Sun blog

November 28, 2009 by lethalconflict

‘Under A New Sun’ has been named as the title for the up-coming album from The Eternal set to see the light of day in 2010. The album will be the follow up to the acclaimed ‘Kartika’ & also the bands fourth full length album. We can also reveal that song titles include: ‘Control’, ‘Under A New Sun’, ‘A Thousand Shades of You’, ‘Collapse’ & ‘Cast In Stone’ to name a few.

The band have also launched a studio blog which can be viewed at:

http://www.the-eternal-studio.blogspot.com

The band enter 301 Studios in Byron Bay on December 4th. The blog will be updated daily throughout December with pictures and the latest news on the recording process, so be sure to check it out.

‘Under A New Sun’ will be produced by Jeff Martin (The Tea Party). Jeff adds this about the album; ‘I proudly re-introduce The Eternal… The type of band I’ve been waiting to produce. It’s been a year now since Mark and I agreed to embark on a journey that begins this December. For The Eternal this will not be a stepping stone but a launch pad. For me, a creative working relationship that allows me to realise an artist’s vision and re-connect with past influences, all the while looking into the future…darkly. I envision an alchemical marriage, a musical landscape anchored by organic rock and roll and infested with industrial overtones. To put things lightly, you’re not playing with kids here. The Eternal are the real deal.’

The album will be co-engineered by Paul Pilsneniks who has worked with such artists as The Living End, The Mars Volta, Silverchair, Grinspoon & Alanis Morissette, and The Eternal has also enlisted acclaimed Finnish keyboard player Maria Ilmoniemi (Tarja / Husky Rescue) to contribute.

Secrets Of The Moon after tour update from sG

November 24, 2009 by lethalconflict

Black metallers SECRETS OF THE MOON recently returned from their first ever North American tour with Moonspell and Divine Heresy. Guitarist/vocalist sG issued the following update:

“Friends and foes: After nearly 50 shows we played across this planet, I am back home, feeling utterly dead in the most positive sense. The past two months have been an amazing, yet really raw experience for the band. Ups and downs, sickness, storm; no calmness. We spent the last month touring North America and Canada with Moonspell and Divine Heresy. Both bands are truly professional and cool guys. We salute them and our fantastic crew: Cartel – tour manager, Phil – stagehand, Ringo  – bus driver and most important: the amazing Jorge Pina for his massive technical support! Moreover we want to thank all the fans (present and future) we met out there, who believe in what we are doing. It’s been a groundbreaking experience to meet people on the other side of planet earth so familiar with and dedicated to our music… an excuse to the people in Kansas City and Denver: I couldn’t bring forth 100% due to the flu that hit me. Actually I don’t have any memories from these shows besides lying dead in my bunk. What is to come until the end of the year? Nothing but creating music. A new album is already in the making, too many ideas storm our minds these days… We’ll be back with another European tour in spring 2010, heading out to some countries we’ve never brought our sickness before. Watch out! — sG.”

SECRETS OF THE MOON
recently released their first full-length in over three years. Privilegivm offers a unique mix of classic black metal with elements of rock. That album is available from http://www.lethalconflict.com.
Upcoming Kolonized Magazine will feature interview with sG done before the tour.

V/A Better Undead Than Alive ready for Christmas Rush

November 19, 2009 by lethalconflict

BETTER UNDEAD THAN ALIVE 2 is READY!!!!!

CODE666 release 10th Anniversary Album “Better Undead Than Alive 2″

here’s what label manager Emiliano Lanzoni had to say about this special album, featuring brand new unreleased and exclusive tracks from Negura Bunget, Fen, The Axis Of Perdition, Davide Tiso, Diabolicum, Void Of Silence and many more: ” It’s no use denying it, actually the label compilations are nearly always boring and useless: a jumble of pieces from  albums to-come, or, at best, a couple of unpublished tracks or remastered versions of old ones – nothing worth spending money on, not worth listening to even if they are given you free. So you will be wondering why Code666 has decided to celebrate its 10th birthday producing a compilation of its bands…. well, for a lot of reasons: First, this is NOT a “standard” compilation of our bands, this is actually a 79 minutes concept-album written by 35 different musicians; secondly, because all the music that you will hear has been composed expressly and exclusively for this CD…. and finally because we decided to resort to the talent of Davide Tiso, mastermind of avantgarde metal giants Ephel Duath, whose task has been to assemble, edit and merge the various tracks by means of little songs and interludes acting as links. The record, in this way, goes beyond the summing up of each piece and becomes an unprecedented concept album, a record with a meaningful course both as a whole and in each song. We are proud of it as it represents in the best possible way the ideas and the passion that have characterized Code666 for ten years”

OFFICIAL TRACKLIST:

1 Davide Tiso – Well
2 Minethorn – Icons ( of the cursed Earth)
3 Davide Tiso – Done!
4 The Axis of perdition – Chained in the Damnation Asylum
5 Davide Tiso – We Have
6 Dsd – Abandoned Emptiness
7 Davide Tiso – Been Good
8 Diabolicum – Salvation Through Vengeance
9 Void of Silence – Instrumental Void
10 Davide Tiso – At
11 Herrschaft – Abyssal Wounds
12 Davide Tiso – Holding On
13 The Oath – Abstract Emotion
14 Davide Tiso – it Was
15 The Prophecy – Adrift
16 Davide Tiso – Worth
17 Negura Bunget – Cumpana
19 Davide Tiso – It
19 Fen – Twilight Descends (Eulogy)

DE PROFUNDIS sign with Kolony Records

November 19, 2009 by lethalconflict

London, UK-based progressive extreme metal band DE PROFUNDIS have inked a deal with Kolony Records to release their second album “A Bleak Reflection” in Europe. The album was recorded in June/July 2009 with producer Fernando Pereira Lopes (MISANTHROPE, ORAKLE) and mastered by Tim Turan (EMPEROR, OPETH, MOTORHEAD).
album cover
Commented the label:

“We at Kolony Records are very proud of this signing and would like to welcome DE PROFUNDIS to the label’s roster. We were blown away by the band’s musical style (an original mix of black-death-doom and, why not, some progressive metal) from the moment we listened to their promo. The guys showed a lot of professionalism during all our discussions and we were really impressed with the international live experience of DE PROFUNDIS. The band has a proven track record when it comes to live performances, having landed high profile gigs with likes of IRON MAIDEN, NEVERMORE and ANNIHILATOR in both the UK and abroad. DE PROFUNDIS has already performed in Greece, France, Portugal, Romania and India; the band is currently finalising plans to tour Europe on a wider scale during 2010. That’s the kind of band we like to work with!”

DE PROFUNDIS stated, “Right from the first communication, we have been very impressed by Kolony Records’ professional and honest approach. Following countless emails and a face-to-face meeting with the label manager Lorenzo Marchello, we are confident that we have found the right label to release our new album and help DE PROFUNDIS to reach the next level. We are very happy to be the part of the Kolony family and look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

“A Bleak Reflection” will be released in Europe in the first week of February 2010 via Kolony Records and will come with a 12 page booklet, created by artist Darryll Jones, that hints at the concept behind the album’s lyrics. DE PROFUNDIS guitarist Roman Subbotin commented, “[the new album] represents a significant moment for our musical evolution. We’ve all worked really hard and, in my humble opinion, achieved rather spectacular results.”

01. The Ephemeral Burden
02. Ablaze In Autumn’s Fire
03. Nocturnal Splendour

Pantheist searching new guitarist

November 19, 2009 by lethalconflict

PANTHEIST are a signed, London-based underground band. Rooted in heavy metal, Pantheist cross-over into 70’s prog rock (King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Eloy), atmospheric doom/death (Anathema, Paradise Lost, Thergothon, Unholy) and explore byzantine, middle-eastern and Asian scales. So far we have 4 CD releases which have received great reviews internationally and routinely play in the UK and Europe.

We are looking for a replacement for guitarist Pete Benjamin (Akercocke, Corpsing, For the Blind). You must be capable of both rhythm and lead guitar, have your own equipment suitable for live performances and be willing to commit to at least 3 rehearsals a month in London, England.

Confidence, live and recording experience are necessary and skills in other instruments are highly welcome. If you feel you are the right person for the job, contact the band at pantheistuk@googlemail.com or through our Myspace site.

“It feels great to get out on the road again and promote our newest album! This is a fucking great line-up; no bullshit, death metal from start to finish! It feels great to tour with DEMONICAL and DEATHBOUND, great bands and good guys. I reckon the alcohol will flow along with sweat and blood. Prepare to be crushed by Northern Death Metal. None shall be spared!” /Anders (MY OWN GRAVE)
